Understanding what the examiner is actually grading takes a lot of the mystery - and fear - out of the road test.

• Complete stops and correct positioning at intersections
• Smooth, well-signaled turns and lane changes
• Consistent mirror and blind-spot checks
• Steady speed control for the road and conditions
• Safe following distance and good observation

Examiners are not trying to trick you. They want to see calm, predictable, safe driving. Signal early, check often, stop fully, and keep your speed sensible, and you will tick most of their boxes without thinking about it.
